Master Calendar for 2008

This calendar is for long range planning purposes. It does not include most routine church activities but lists some items well in advance that may not have firm dates and which may affect some planning processes. The primary CUCC calendar is the one listed on the home page.

Constitution | Bylaws

UCC churches are generally organized as democratically governed bodies. Community UCC is no exception. Major actions of the church are debated and approved by congregational meetings which are held on two or more occasions each year. The Constitution and Bylaws govern the democratic process.

Videos in Fellowship Hall (pdf)

The Fellowship Hall (Vaughan Wing) has a permanently installed flat-screen TV cabled to a DVD-player, VHS tape player, and audio equipment (with attached cabling for laptop connection). The peripheral equipment is housed in the cabinet beneath the screen. Printed instructions for use may be found in the cabinet and are available in pdf format here (basic instructions, complete instructions)

United Church of Christ

Community UCC is affiliated with the United Church or Christ, with headquarters in Cleveland OH. The UCC web site provides a plethora of useful church resources.

Wabash Center's Internet resource page | Bible Crosswalk

Many educational institutions provide resources that are useful for churches. A source of information suggested by one of our own church members is the Wabash Center associated with Wabash College in Crawfordsville IN. The Wabash Center's Internet resource page is a valuable collection of online resources for the study of religion. Bible Crosswalk features multiple translations of the Bible.

CUCC Archives

This is a collection of scanned documents central to the history of Community United Church of Christ.

Bible Grid | Bible Gateway | Commentaries on Lectionary

The Bible Grid provided by the Wabash Center is an excellent resource for Bible Study and comparison of various translations. One specific resource of value is the Bible Gateway. For a listing and commentary on lectionary passages, the Commentaries on the Revised Common Lectionary is provided by the Anglican Diocese of Montreal.

Cyberhymnal

For those with an interest in or love of 18th and 19th century hymns, an excellent collection of words and tunes (including audio) is provided by the Cyberhymnal. If there's an old hymn whose tune you can't remember, Cyberhymnal will play it for you.

Please pass along to Lavon Page additional suggestions for resources to be listed here.
