The Music of CUCC

This is a series of special musical events at Community UCC. Most of these are recorded during the weekly Sunday morning 10:30 worship, but some are special events unto themselves. In December 2010 the quality of the recordings accessed from this page were upgraded to 128 kb/sec mp3 files. So some of the older recordings that were originally listed here in a low bandwidth format now appear in much higher quality.

Congolese style singing during worship

Community UCC has a large number of members and friends from the local Congolese community in the Raleigh area. Congolese style singing plays a regular part in CUCC worship activities. On October 30, 2011, seven members of the community offered a worship song in Lingala (Ngala), a primary language of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

But we also have numerous superb amateurs including Tim Jensen, Linda Baker, Anne Pope, Amy Jensen, and Mike Schafale. Here's a medley from Oct. 30, 2011, of Amy Jensen and Doug Barrick practicing in the CUCC sanctuary to perform at an upcoming wedding at a neighboring Presbyterian church.
