Taizé Worship

The Taizé worship service at Community UCC is held in the sanctuary 9:00-9:30 each Sunday morning. It is a service of quiet meditation, scripture reading, singing of chants and other simple repetitive hymns or songs, and prayer. The third Sunday of each month is generally a communion service. Taizé worship originated with the Taizé community in France.

The Taizé service is usually led by a member of the congregation. The schedule for leadership is maintained by Peg Hulslander and Etta Barksdale. Attendance at the Taizé service typically runs between 6 and 20 participants.

If a simple, participatory worship period where the only spoken words are scripture and prayer appeals to you, please give the Taizé service a try.
