Serving the community
These groups plan opportunities for the congregation to be involved in caring for our neighbors and advocating for just systems.  Your ideas and energy are welcome.
  • Carbon Neutral CUCC - meets by Zoom and email to create a plan for CUCC to become carbon neutral
  • Cash Bail Bond Reform - meets by Zoom and email to work for reform of the cash bail bond system
  • Community Outreach - meets by phone and email to plan and mobilize CUCC's people for specific hands-on or fundraising projects to meet the basic needs of people in the community and beyond
  • Do Justice - meets noon on 4th Sundays by Zoom and by email to plan advocacy initiatives on the local, state, and national level
  • Just Show Up - an advocacy-focused list serve for people who want to be notified when there is an immediate justice action to be taken: an event where their presence matters, a petition to sign, a letter to write
  • Justice in a Changing Climate task force - meets by Zoom, by email, and a Google Group as needed to plan ways for CUCC to address the climate crisis.
  • Mental Health - in the works
  • Racial Justice - a Google Group exchanging resources for learning and action steps toward working for racial justice and addressing internalized racism
Friendship
  • Retirees' Cafe - a Zoom drop in to relax and touch base with anyone else who shows up; Fridays, 1-2PM
  • Fellowship - linger after either worship service to meet others
  • Life & Faith - a Zoom drop in to discuss an open-ended question to explore how those present are navigating the intersection of life & faith; 1st Tuesdays, 7PM
