Use this activity booklet for your advent at home.  Each week has a prayer, an activity to do throughout the week, and a reflection.

Dec. 3, 5-7PM, Fellowship Hall - Intergenerational Advent Party.  Pizza being served.  Bring cookies for the cookie exchange.

Dec. 9, 6:30-8:30PM, Fellowship Hall - Adult Christmas Party.  Bring an hors d'oeuvres to share and a hat/gloves/scarf for Love Wins

Dec. 12, 10:30AM, Fellowship Hall - Retirees Christmas Luncheon. RSVP to the church office BY Dec. 6.


Advent:  Serve together



The advent wreath was made
by the youth from recycled materials.
Have your book purchases gift-wrapped by members of our Nicaragua mission trip team (Dec. 2, 10:00 to 2:00, Crabtree Valley Mall Barnes and Noble ).  This is a fundraiser for the trip, so tip generously!

Go caroling at Morningside (across the street) and then, if you have time, to a few homes of people connected to CUCC (Dec. 17, 12:30).

Cook a dessert, serve it at a party, help with a craft at the Neighbor to Neighbor Christmas party (Dec. 7).

Bring a hat, scarf and/or gloves for Love Wins to the Adult Christmas Party (Dec. 9).

Prepare the Wright Center Meal (youth project) after worship until 1PM, then serve the meal at 6PM (Dec. 17).

Buy medical and non-medical supplies for our team to take to Nicaragua OR gift cards to stores for Loaves & Fishes families for our angel tree.  List of mission trip supplies needed.  Questions?  Talk to Laurel Powell.

Advent:  Worship together

Every Sunday, 9-9:30AM  Meditative worship in the style of the Taize' community

Every Sunday, 10:30-11:45AM  Families light the advent wreath candles

     Dec. 3  Youth join their families in worship (no Sunday School or confirmation.

     Dec. 10  Children lead worship, presenting a pageant of the Christmas story.  Youth sing "Canticle of the Turning" during worship.  Nicaraguan-themed Fellowship Hour after worship sponsored by the 2018 Mission Trip Team.

     Dec. 17  The choir, assisted by the children using special props, present John Rutter's Brother Heinrich's Christmas.

     Dec. 24

Christmas Eve worship (Dec. 24, 5PM) for all ages.  The children will join the choir in singing "All is Well."

During Christmas Break:  No Sunday School for children or youth - Dec. 24 and 31
